Selections from various albums and live performances from 1996 to 2007. The Autumns enjoyed a long friendship with Cocteau Twins bassist Simon Raymonde, who brought the band to London in the late 1990s to record an album, resulting in several European tours, high acclaim of European, North American and Japanese press, and the release of The Autumns' subsequent albums on his record label Bella Union alongside their friends Lift To Experience, Fleet Foxes, Explosions In The Sky, The Dears, Dirty Three, Philip Selway (Radiohead), and Andrew Bird.

"Sunblush / Juniper Hill"
from the album "The Angel Pool"
Released: 1997

SUNBLUSH:
As dripping as orphans
return bluely nocturne flowers fear
you're a dear to the sun
in bracelets of glass eyes
pain and sorrow mount to kiss
these moonrings and green things
in love
outside all your smeared olive tears
outside all is clearly woven
entangled and hanging
in spiders spines grind wax fingers
to smoke angels fallen to blue

JUNIPER HILL:
Throw down the sea floor's itching for an anchor
begging for a death show
come on through the window I know
we'll never secrets keep
slow down the hall we creep
to fall black clowns from gallows' heights
throw down I knew you'd hang like meat from a hook
dripping out the life in blood and grenadine
when i know you'll never secrets keep
high on a cloud you sleep
to fall black clowns from gallows' heights
now, even now we can wild and sad
creeping smiling sad, pulling out your hair
your smiles and their seasons
render all this love treason
you preen to bleed me even now I know
